Welcome

The world welcomes South Sudan as its newest member into the family of nations and the 193rd recognized by the United Nations.  Independence comes after a decade's long struggle on the part of the people of southern Sudan against what was felt to be an oppressive Sudanese regime.  We pray that independence for this troubled region will lead to better times for its people.  Amen.
